Joanne graduated from Cardiff University with a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Business Administration and French in 2001. She has 16 years’ experience in the financial services industry, 8 of which were spent working as a Financial Adviser for Lloyds Bank in the UK. Joanne is fully qualified to the enhanced standards introduced by the Retail Distribution Review (RDR) in the UK by the level 4 Diploma for Financial Advisers. Joanne has also obtained the Chartered Insurance Institute Pensions Administration exam.

Born and bred in Gibraltar, Joanne relocated from the UK in 2013 and took the opportunity to widen her experience by working as an Independent Financial Adviser. This role involved building her own client base and providing financial advice to them regarding all aspects of their financial situation.

In 2014, Joanne joined Abacus Financial Services Limited as business development manager. Since this time, her role has evolved to the extent that she is responsible for the oversight of investments held within Trust and Company structures and for the development of Abacus’s growing Pension Trustee business. Although she is not acting in an advisory capacity in her role at Abacus, it does means she is well placed to understand the technical aspects of pension and investment advice, and the application and administration thereof. Joanne combines her existing role with her new appointment at Abacus Wealth Management Limited where she is primarily responsible for acquiring new business for the company. Joanne is jointly responsible with Darren Mills for ensuring the regulators “four eyes” principle is observed at all times.
