Robert graduated in Economics from University College London in 1973. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and a registered Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP).

Robert has previously acted as Chairman of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and has also served on the Gibraltar Finance Centre Council. Robert has had a variety of roles throughout his career beginning at a multi-national consumer goods company in 1975 as a trainee accountant. In 1988 Robert became a Vice President at a very well established private bank in Gibraltar where he established (and became a trustee) of their defined benefit pension scheme. Robert joined the Gibraltar arm multi-national accountancy firm in 1998 becoming a partner and then became Chairman of Abacus Financial Services Limited in 2012.

He still acts as a Trustee for the pension scheme of the multi-national accountancy practice which has over 60 active members and assets under management in excess of £2 million. Over his career, he has gained extensive experience of pension scheme structures and the administration thereof. In equal measures, his work as a Trustee has consistently involved the critical evaluation of investment propositions. Robert is the company Compliance Officer.
